Johann Joachim Kaendler, was  the main man responsable of the triumph of Meissen, For more then fifty years the porclin produced there was unsurpassed by the work of any othe European factory. The European porclin figure war conceived at Meissen soon after the material itself, For an inventory of 1711 , The year after the factory started work, already lists sereral models, including a tiny but impressively baroque figure of Augustus the Strong, Elector of Saxony, King of Poland & patron for whose satisfaction Miessen was established. The earlyiest figures at Meissen lacked any comnsistency of style, and this situation prevailed untill 1727.

The Elector Augustus indulged a passion for luxury and display that achieved international repute even in an age accustomed to overweening splendour amoung princes.

In the Middle of the century Meissen reached its peak,Constituting Saxonys gratest source of income. The output of work of Kaendler & his colleagues in the 1740s was phonomenal.
