Many cyclists like a clean bike, and as you know the wheels can get very dirty. A hub is the center part of a bicycle wheel. It consists of an axel, bearings and a hub shell. It supports (usually the head, but latterly the threaded ends of) the spokes; this is called the head shell or flange. Most hubs have 2 flanges and the hub assembly can be steel or aluminium (although composite and more exotic materials have been used). This is one way of keeping your hubs clean!

  • Get an old (or new) shoelace
  • Tie it around the hub,not to tight so it can run freely
  • Ride

You should see a vast change and ofcourse this method can be used on Motorcycles aswell.
