Things of beauty for your kitchen or dining room, a kitchen trolley can be a great addition to any home.
Practicality is the key with your choice of kitchen trolley. The range of trolleys mean that you need to decide what use you want to make of the trolley before you buy.
BUTCHER’S TROLLEY
Perhaps the best known and most popular type of trolley. Traditionally used in a butcher shop, in the home kitchen they can be used for chopping meat. Look for a deep and solid top chopping block which can put up with the punishment from your meat cleaver! Many will offer a draw and shelves under the block. Make sure to keep the block clean between meat and preparation of other food, perhaps by adding a small chopping block just for vegetables and another for fish.
ISLAND TROLLEY
This is designed to be accessed from all sides. Look for easy access and can the wheels be locked to prevent movement?
DINING CART
More for the dining room than the kitchen and ideal for serving food to your family and friends. Dining room carts will often feature cupboards, which are useful as short term and long term storage.
VEGETABLE TROLLEY
Back into the kitchen, where you are looking for a vegetable trolley with wire baskets to store the raw veg. Can you easily access the draws? Do they pull out for ease of use?
GRANITE TOPS
Perhaps the ultimate kitchen fashion statement is a trolley with a granite stone top. By nature, these trolleys will be heavier than most. Remember, they will not be suitable for the meat cleaver approach!
Kitchen trolleys come in a variety of shapes and sizes and a search in eBay will offer you a fair choice.
