I have written this guide myself in order to find out how to leave a guide for buyers and also I can leave instructions here for people to read, this may help them in using the product.

The leather dye is a water based product and is thus environmentally friendly and will not harm the user of the product. The small kit has been designed primarily for touching in scuffs, nicks and scratches for leather interiors of motor vehicles. Common purchases are for Jaguar, Range Rover, BMW, AUDI, Mercedes Benz and SAAB. I have also supplied kits from samples supplied for Rolls Royce, Bentley and many classic motor vehicles.

Essentially you must clean the leather thoroughly, it's surprising how much dirt can be found, use a nail cleaning brush and give it a scrub, wipe off with paper towel to remove the loose dirt.

I have found that the leather often looks worse after this as loose dye is removed and the dirt hides the damage somewhat   See the website for examples

After allowing the seat to dry sponge the dye onto the seat. Do not be in a hurry to cover the damage (It will be covered eventually so don't be despondent) a light coat followed by another approx 30-60 minutes later, it could take as many as 4-5 coats. This allows the dye to be absorbed and the water to dry off.

If you condition the seats a couple of days later, the cleaning process will have removed some moisture (oil) between the conditioning and the dye the cracks will "heal".

Be aware that whilst many find their seats "like new" age and patina are a factor of leather that makes it the desirable product it is so you may not find the same result as the next person or the last person. However you will get rid of the nasty looking "scabs" and give the appearance of the leather interior a consistent colour that is most satisfying.

Speaking of satisfying, it is a job that you can do DIY and will give you immense pleasure having achieved the result you required, you can always look at the feedback to get an idea of the performance of the products.

Finally the dye is available in larger quantity kits that come complete with conditioner, cleaner, a brush, some spirit cleaner (critical if used on steering wheels).

Thanks for looking and best wishes Steve      01582 499777
