The Harsh Reality of the Hacked MP4 Players & Flash Memory on eBay SCAM Criminals!

Not many people dare stand up against the sellers as they are more than likely involved in other criminal activity who retail these & have underworld links...their prime goal is to make a silly amount of profit at the expense of the end user - YOU!

So what does this SCAM entail then....

Basically its all to do with the way Memory works & due to the volatile nature can be hacked/cracked/patched/flashed ...whatever you like to call it..but its dodgy memory for lamens

Be careful of the true capacity, some sellers on ebay will sell you a hacked mp3 player or flash card for the digital camera, memory stick etc, what this means is that it is being advertised as for example...4GB (Gigabytes...) However the reality of this is soon apparent when you recieve it and try to copy onto the player 4GB and then try Play it back.

The hacked players will allow you to copy onto them the full 4GB. then when you try to play back the last DATA that you copied onto them it will be corrupt or simply wont show this data. The only way to test them is to copy full 4gb worth of files and remember the last thing you copied onto the player, then unplug the device, turn it off and on again, try to then play back the last item you copied onto it so that it was upto the limit of 4GB....If it plays...You have a genuine capcity..otherwise im afraid you have been conned by a fraudulent seller.

How it goes unnoticed & Why there feedback is still really good ??

The way this happens, is because not a lot of us will actually copy onto the player more than say 1GB, as its time consuming and the modern 'carnt be arsed' attitude. So when you plug it into the pc, it will show in windows explorer as a full sized player, even format to a full size player!! But Its only apprent when you 'TEST IT TO ITS LIMIT - SO TO SPEAK!'

These hacked players, have very unstable memory and will probably fail within a short time. too late...you have already left feedback.

One of the biggest tell tale signs is that, fraudulent sellers will advertise the players at a really hard to beat price...Dont be fooled, IF ITS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE...IT PROBABLY IS !!!

Feedback is another misleader in this scenario, becasue you recieve a hacked player, turn it on, it works, and you copy some music onto it, your happy it works, and leave feedback...a couple of months down the line you copy more and more music onto it and realise that you have been conned...TOO LATE.

This SCAM is worth millions of pounds a year on ebay alone, it has become som much of a problem that now it has widespread to Hacked SD CARDS / XD CARDS / FLASH MEMORY PEN DRIVES, DIGITAL PHOTO FRAMES..........Basically anything labelled with FLASH MEMORY can potentially be hacked & lucrative profit to be made at buyers cost once again.

Websites have been setup to register the hacked player on and the ebay sellers name who sold it to you. I would search google for my mpx player and if you have already been conned put down the name of the seller & item number on the petition. Have your say.

Hopefully this will warn and advise buyers of the problems & expose those who cheat the system and trade openly knowing full well that the goods are not as described, if this guide helps one single person its served it purpose.

This crime has a significant impact on genuine sellers who are retailing the correct sized player memory and memory cards, flash drives, and as they are out done on price by fraudulent sellers on ebay probably 20 : 1 ratio, and the more hacked items sell, the genuine sellers cant compete at those prices, so are forced out, creating more sales for the CRIMINALS.

Please also note, that most if not all of these products come from China, sometimes the sellers who source from China are not aware they themselves have been conned when purchasing the stock (as a result of pushing too much on the cost prices and wanting the stock for nowt!). But at the end of the day and the bottom line... it is thier responsibility to QC check and make sure the item is fit for its purpose and matchs the advertised spec before selling to a consumer in the UK.

Your all warned.

Best Regards,
