Repacks, as always described a random selection of cards generally consisting of, one rare, some uncommons and commons, at a low price of just a couple of dollars, but with the opportunity to win Alpha P9 and so on... WooooW what an amazing deal, firstly I did not even realise there are so many people out there with Alpha P9 cards floating around, simply because theres not. Repacks have to be one of the biggest rips on our MTG eBay community.. Can you win the Ali from Cairo or the Moxen as promised??? Actually yes you can, surprised? Nope, because if you buy 75 repacks at $2.50, then the seller doesn't mind throwing in an Ali from Cairo to keep you happy. Why? Because you have essential bought an Ali from Cairo + a crap for $187.50, where the most they could get for selling a NM/MINT Ali from Cairo individually is $80, but i doubt you would even recieve a mint condition one, as the condition is rarely stated in repacks. So thats the way most repacks work, once you have paid enough or the seller has sold enough to secure a good value for the power cards, he/she will send them out and then there are some that will just never send out the bait cards... The trap continues from here when every so often there is feedback along the lines of WoooW a MOX, and people continue to keep buying these repacks, which has lead to them being so rampant on eBay today.

There are plenty of variations on the repack, some do it with their 100000 card collection, which they have broken down into 1000 card repacks, others will do it with just 6 cards, 5 Moxen and 1 Polluted Mire, with a high starting bid... and if you dont bid even higher then your sure to recieve that Polluted Mire, or 999 commons and 1 vizzerdrix. Reading this you probly think there is no way people could fall for such obvious scams, but sadly I see one German Seller whose been pumping out these kind of repacks daily, securing extremely high prices but always sending out the worst card possible, yet people just keep coming back.

Now I dont want to blast on everyone doing repacks, maybe there are one or two out there, with a massive collection of magic, that have recruited their room mate who knows nothing of the game to make up the repacks with a fair chance of you winning that p9 dream card at a low low price. BUT what i do know is for everyone of them, there about 10000 of the others.

So 101 on repacks on eBay, firstly check the sellers feedback, not just to see if its 90%+ positive, but read those negative and neutral comments, you will be suprized at the number of people who are content with the crap they recieve, so check with those people who like to voice their opinion. See what the seller has been buying, I came across one person who bought a complete set of P9 fakes, then shortly after was listing those P9 repacks, is that a cowinkydink or what. See if you can find someone whose won one of the power cards on offer, contact them, did they buy 150 repacks at once, or was it only after the seller had alot got rid of 900/1000 repacks that he got one of the power cards. Even then be suspect of this person, as some people leave fake feedback to make it look like their repacks are honest. All in all there is no harm in the kind of repacks you see offering 50x Burn cards and are reasonably priced you know roughly what your going to be getting... but as for those ones that offer a little bit of bait and promises of a fair/random chance!!! Just save your money, if you want a P9 card, just buy it straight from a reputable seller and save yourself the hassle (unless you like betting on the three legged horse... thats dead).
