For Indoor Use - Lights4fun only recommends low voltage lights.

These could be either traditional bulbs or new energy saving LED's.

  • For LED's there is now a choice of

  • Standard fixed length LED Fairy Lights of 20, 40, 80 and 100 bulb strings with a single low voltage transformer and controller.

  • New connectable LED system that will allow up to 8 sets to be run from a single transformer and controller. Avoid extra plugs and tangled cables.

  • Remember that LED's will always stay cool but the transformer will generate some heat.

We strongley recommend to all customers where children, pets or the general public could possibly touch decorative lighting, to use Low Voltage LED's. They would be the ideal choice for the home, schools and all types of public building.

For Outdoor Use - main products are often more popular.

Lights4fun only recommends the use of professional quality IP44 rated products for outdoor use. Many mass produced Christmas lights say they are suitable for 'indoor and outdoor' use when in reality they are not designed to be fully weather resistant. Ensure that products have a minimum rating of IP44.

All Lights4fun outdoor products are all manufactured to a professional standard which includes rubber cables, IP44 rated double sealed bulbs, double insulation, and an outdoor plug. Many of our products have been tested to the highest 'GS' standard and are therefore designed for semi-permament outdoor use.

Lights4fun offers outdoor systems in either high quality traditional long life bulbs or new technology LED's. The LED connectable system uses up to 90% less energy than traditional bulbs and has the advantage of being able to connect up to 5,000 bulbs from just one socket and still use less power than six domestic light bulbs.

Again if the general public, children or pets could interfere with the lights then we would recommend the use of a low voltage system.
