Your multi-fuel stove requires little maintenance. It can be peroidically sprayed or brush painted as required with high temperature stove paint such as STOVEBRIGHT - or alternatively polished in the traditional manner with stove and grate polish. Vitreous enamelled stoves only need an occasional wipe down with a duster or vaccum.

The throat / baffle plate should be checked REGULARLY in the months when the stove is in use to check there is no build up of deposit. Such build ups, left un-noticed, could create a blockage.

Stove rope door seals should be checked to make sure they are air tight.Replace where neccessary. Ways of demonstrating are by your sweep or engineer doing a smoke leakage test (done with smoke pellets).. or if in doubt over door closure - shut a sheet of paper between door and stove body and check the resulting marks. You should not be able to move the paper when the door is shut.

NEVER EVER TAKE A DAMP CLOTH OR A DUSTER WITH POLISH TO STOVES AND FLUES - IT WILL TURN THE PAINT WHITE !!!

Chimneys can be kept clean and free from soot by numerous chemical cleaners - such as chimney cleaning logs which are available from us on Ebay. However, if a flexible flue is in operation, then chemical cleaners should not be used.

Sweeping is required at least annually depending on the type of fuel being used and the amount of soot that builds up. When burning wood, more frequent chimney cleaning is suggested. Contrary to some people's belief - flexible liners DO need cleaning just as much as original chimneys.

Fire cement may occasionally require replacing.
