Read this carefully if you are tempted to buy these shiny speakers.

The Matrix website that gives the technical details for these speakers (and suggests that thay have a retail value of $3998 a pair) is part of a well constructed worldwide scam. You cannot buy from the website, there are NO dealers or distributors, the written guarantee is worthless and the speakers are of a budget quality with poor quality drivers and crossover. They compare with £100 retail cost speakers sold in this country and £50 second hand is their true worth. They are sold from white vans, mainly to students and the gullible who are told they are worth $3998 a pair.

They end up on ebay with completely misleading information and links to the fraudulent site. I have been a hifi enthusiast for over 30 years and can find NO reason to consider these speakers as they are easily bettered for less than £100 a dozen times a day in the speaker listings. I have often been asked if there are genuine and fake Matrix mx-1200`s. The answer is NO, they are all real and all poor sound quality.

I have recently been informed that there are frequent faults with the crossover wiring causing an impedance of 2ohms. this is generally enough to blow most amplifiers, you have been warned!
