The SEGA Mega Drive, may be the best 16-bit console (depends if you like Nintendo or SEGA, or even Mario or Sonic), The console only sold moderately in Japan, but sold by the bucket load in the US and UK. SEGA would probably want to forget about the MEGA-CD and 32X that they released to try and lengthen the life-span of their ageing system. But hey everyone makes mistakes, and they made up for it by making some excellent games and later making the excellent Dreamcast (ok not forgetting the SEGA Saturn as well...). Here is a taster of some of the great games that appeared on the SEGA Mega Drive: Sonic The Hedgehog 1, 2 & 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Kid Chameleon, Decap Attack, Toe Jam & Earl, Dynamite Headdy, Road Rash, Thunderforce, Rocket Knight Adventures, Streets Of Rage & Golden Axe. Mega Drives can be brought very cheaply, and some of the more common games are cheap to buy too.
