Well... you need some help trying to choose a phone. The first thing you need to identify is what phone you want. You could have a smartphone, for business, a fashion phone, for good looks, a camera phone to keep track of those memories, a music phone, to keep you entertained, or something else. What I'll try to do is put a best phone from each type for each manufacturer. Lets start with the most popular brand of all... NOKIA!!!  For a smartphone you could consider a N95. Prices for this are pretty high and some people will try to lure you into a contract, and you could be paying hundreds of pounds for it. If the N95 isn't to your taste, why not try a N80. These are excellent phones and now that the N95 has been released, prices have plummeted. These phones come up a lot and are just as good as a N95, just with a smaller camera. Talking of cameras, if you want a superb Nokia camera phone, go with a N73. The phone has the ability to automatically upload the photos you take to Flickr. The camera cannot be flawed and the build quality, like all Nokias, is second to none. For a music phone, you have to get a N91. This phone has a mini hard drive the same size as a black Apple iPod Nano. For a fashion phone go for anything from the updated L'Amour range, the only rule for this would be pick a style and colour scheme that suits you and either a clamshell, slider, twist or candybar style.
Now for Samsung. Samsung only do really pricey smartphones like the i600 but the D900 is just as good. \For a camera phone go for any Samsung with at least a 2 megapixel camera beacause Samsung don't do a range specifically for cameras. Music phone... go for a F300. These are really expensive but the design is really innovative, 2 sidesto the phone, a basic phone on one side, a big screened mp3 player on the other. As Samsung fashion phones go, the best is the X830. You know... that really skinny one that swivels round. They come in many colours so just go for whatever suits you.
Right, now we're onto Sony Ericsson. Smartphone, hmm. M600i. This is a cool phone but I'm not sure whether they come up on eBay much. For a camera phone go for the K800i, which is a CyberShot phone and is on eBay a lot now. Sony Ericsson kind of specialise in music phones nowadays so choose anything that starts with a W! The top Sony fashion phone is Z610i which is an older phone but has a lovely mirrored finish and comes in 3 colours.
Motorola have recently made amazingly designed phones although many queries have been made about the interface. A powerful Motorola is the MAXX V6. It is one of the most functional phones in the range. For a good camera on a phone is the V3i. This is a pretty old phone now and it is still one of the best cameras Motorola makes. To be honest Motorola don't really make a very good music phone. Any of the thin phones like the V3 or the SLVR are excellent fashion phones.
