Morette Style Twin Headlight Conversion for Peugeot 206

I have recently bought a set of these off of Ebay. They are always advertised as Morette "style" twin headlight conversion, or twin angel eye headlights.
They are NOT genuine morettes, and they are no way near the standard of real Morette headlights. If your looking at a Morette twin headlight conversion, WITH halos then stear clear - they are NOT real. Morettes do NOT have halos.

First of all, your sidelights. There are no sidelights as such on these conversion, instead you have 2 x Angel eye HALOs on each light. The quality of the Halos is EXTREMELY POOR. The halos CAN NOT be seen properly, they arent visible around the full outside area of the light like they ought to be, theyre only really visible in 1 or 2 places, which is really poor. So effectively your not really getting halos, your getting some very dim poorly visible areas of light. Also there is no connector, you need to wire this in MANUALLY which involves cutting your existing wires to splice them in (they dont tell you.any of this, they tell you they have these lovely halos, and its a load of crap!)

The build quality of the headlight plastic area is also not the best. They seem pretty weak and light, and Im sure it wont take much to break them. They can be sprayed to make them look really nice of course, but theyre no where near to the standard of a genuine Morette set up.

The headlight lenses themselves are made of glass as you would expect, however, since buying mine Ive spoken to a number of people who have them, and all have said this same thing: After some time, some as short as 6 months to a year, the CENTRE lens can start to discolour, going a yellow colour from water ingress. This ruins the look of the headlights totally from what Ive been told, and Ive seen pictures on some peoples demonstrating what happens. Maybe this wont happen to every set, but with them being built a lot cheaper than real morettes, water may eventually get in and cause cosmetic discolouring and maybe even electrical problems..... Not gonna happen to every set but be warned its a possibility.

To sum up, they are a nice looking set of lights, and especially if you really cant afford to buy NEW Morettes (genuine ones). But for what they cost, I would advise you to find a good set of second hand genuine Morettes, or alternatively save up and buy the real thing. After all, the originals are the originals!!! Theyre built better, and they are worth the money!

I do have my set of imitations, and I am going to keep them in on my car until I install my bodykit, and at that time Im going to replace them with the real things. However, had I known about the terrible cheap tacky halo's and the problem of them discolouring, I certainly would not have wasted my money. Even just wiring the halos up to my battery to see them, I was immediately dissapointed with them and realised I had just wasted a lot of money on something which is basicly a cheap copy!
