CAUTION
There are many eBayers that will try and make a quick buck and con the public into believing their products are REAL! As we deal mainly in Movie Scripts that will be the main focus of this guide. Hopefully you will not be fooled into buying something that has been printed off in some child’s bedroom and past off as the real thing.
In this guide we will be looking into HOW TO SPOT A FAKE!
The first step is to pay close attention to the listing. here are a few steps that could help safe guard against FRAUD!
- Check the picture... does it clearly show the item in question? Or is it a print screen of the "signed" cover.
- Rarely will any two script covers look the same so check the previous auctions of that dealer to see if they are selling the same knock offs over and over...
- The price of a REAL signed script can fetch anything up to £500 (for example Harry Potter recently sold for around that amount!) so be careful if a "authentic" signed copy is being sold for no were near that amount.
- COA's are of no value unless offered from the studio themselves (such as Warner brothers etc etc). COA offered from the seller does NOT give you a guarantee of authenticity!
Finally... be careful!.. If you want a movie script then be prepared to spend a large amount or shop with the HONEST eBayers who will tell you how it is!...
