Here are my all time best ps2 games in the different categories

role playing games

1) Kingdom hearts 2- Amazing graphics and outstanding gameplay- a masterpiece.

2) Final Fantasy 12- the wait only made it more rewarding when it finally came. One of the biggest of them all.

3)Dragon quest- The characters look great. An epic.

4)Dark chronicle- Another great game

5)Rogue galaxy- brilliant plot and it looks good too.

Platformers

1)Ratchet and clank 3- Colourful graphics, amazing weapons and action packed levels.

2) Psychonauts- weird and wonderful. The levels take place inside peoples minds are some levels are really original

3)Jake 2 renegade- A massive world (which the psp game daxter expands on ) Great!

4)Sly 3- Cartoony graphics and animal characters make up a peculiar but wonderful game

5) Jak 3- The tonnes of vehicles make this game great fun.

Shooters

1) Timesplitters 2- Fast and furious, this is the king of shooters

2) Black- realistic graphics, and although linear at times, still an excellent game

3)Resident evil 4- Blowing heads off spanish sounding zombies with a shotgun with all the lights off. Genius

4) Call of duty 3- Best world war 2 shooter. looks good on ps2, great on ps3.

5)Half life- very good shooter

Driving

1)Gran tourismo 4- stunning level details. especially the tracks e.g. the canyon and great handling vehicles. A must buy.

2) Burnout denominator- Extremely fast, smooth and action packed. Brilliant

3)Toca racing driver 3- even more types of cars than gran tourismo 4

4)Outrun 2006 coast to coast- sublime graphics, gameplay and that feel good factor

5)Need for speed most wanted- I think its more original and exciting than its newer sibling need for speed carbon.

Action games

1)Spartan total warrior- bloody and great, the levels and weapons in this are really varied.

2)Metal gear solid 3- full of meaning as well as action

3) god of war 2-another epic- you have to learn fast as it starts amazingly think big)

4)Resident evil 4- packed with awesome bossess. Scary.

5) Grand theft auto san andreas- so big its unbelievable.

Sports games-

1)virtua tennis 3- addicitve gameplay and minigames are funny.

2)ssx3- beautiful courses and awesome tricks to do.

3) Pro evolution soccer 6- the best football game out there.

4)Tony hawk's pro skater 3- the first and arguably best tony hawk skating game.

5)Fifa 07- still a great footbal game, let down by gameplay.
