I was inspired to write this based on seeing a guide called the XBox 360 Scam alert which highlighted dodgy ads which just showed a picture or link of how to get one (i.e. not selling the XBox itself) and people were bidding £300+ obviously thinking it was the item itself for sale.
So what about the N95 8GB. Here the scam is different. There is the black N95 8GB which has to be compared to the 'standard' N95 that preceded it. The N95 has a bigger screen and most importantly has much more RAM memory, which allows a number of programs to run at once (a limitation of the original N95) and the battery lasts considerably longer. All in all a better and more desirable phone.
However, the orginial N95 can accept a SD memory card (and here's the scam) which these days can be up to 8GB! Hope you're getting it by now. A N95 8GB phone (i.e. an original one with an extra 8GB SD card) IS NOT the same as an N95 8GB phone (which is black and has the improvements mentioned above.)
My Advice is 1) Read very carefully which phone it is. 2) To the best of my knowledge: Silver = older N95, Black = new proper N95 8GB.
I have seen bidding that indicates that by misleading buyers (although if you were to complain, they could show that they had advertised an old N95 with 8GB chip) many think they are getting the new version.
Hope this helped (its my 1st time writing a guide), and good luck...
