FROM THE 15TH MAY 08' SELLERS ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO LEAVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. IS THIS REALLY FAIR?
I UNDERSTAND THAT VERY FEW SELLERS HAVE BEEN NAUGHTY IN INFLUENCING BUYERS INTO LEAVING A FALSE POSITIVE AND I DO NOT AGREE WITH THEIR TACTICS.
BUT WHAT ABOUT US HONEST AND RELIABLE SELLERS WHO DO OUR BEST TO KEEP OUR CUSTOMERS HAPPY?
WE PAY EBAY OUR FEE TO LIST OUR STOCK. WE PAY OUR END FEES TO EBAY. WE ALSO PAY OUR PAYPAL FEES. BUT THE BUYER WHO DOESN'T PAY EBAY OR PAYPAL A SINGLE PENNY IS PUT FIRST.
EVERY NOW AND THEN WE MEET A BUYER WHO JUST HAD NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAT DAY THAN BID ON YOUR ITEM WITH NO INTENTION OF EVER PAYING FOR IT. SO YOU EMAIL THEM AND ASK IF THEY STILL WANT IT. THEY MAY NOT EVEN BOTHER TO REPLY. SO OK THEN WE FILE A DISPUTE AND IF THEY HAVE LEFT US NEGATIVE IT CAN BE REMOVED.
BUT WHAT ABOUT THOSE BUYERS WHO TELL US THEY DON'T WANT THE ITEM ANY MORE SO WE OFFER TO CANCEL THE SALE THROUGH THE DISPUTES PROCESS. THEN WHEN THEY ARE EMAILED BY EBAY THEY SAY THEY STILL WANT IT!
ONCE THEY HAVE DONE THIS SELLERS CAN'T FILE A DISPUTE. SO WHEN THEY STILL DON'T PAY EBAY WILL NOT REFUND OUR FINAL FEE. IF THIS BUYER THEN LEAVES US NEGATIVE FEEDBACK AS WELL WHAT CAN WE DO! tHEY BID, THEY WON'T PAY, THEY STOP YOU CLAIMING YOUR FEE BACK & THEN THE CHERRY ON THE CAKE, YOU GET THE NEGATIVE.
WHY SHOULD SELLERS EVEN HAVE TO PAY TO RELIST THIS ITEM WHEN EBAY ARE NOW STOPPING US FROM BEING WARNED ABOUT A BAD BUYER. WHY CAN YOU NOT RATE A TIME WASTER AS ATIME WASTER?
I HAVE BEEN BOTH BUYING AND SELLING ON EBAY FOR 4+ YEARS NOW AND 99% OF THE TROUBLE I HAVE ENCOUNTERED HAS BEEN FROM BUYERS NOT PLAYING THE GAME. NOT SELLERS. I HAD 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK BECAUSE I GIVE A GOOD SERVICE. BUT SINCE THE GREAT NEW SYSTEM STARTED MY RATING HAS GONE DOWN.
SO SUDDENLY OVER NIGHT I AM LESS RELIABLE AND LESS HONEST... WHY ? I'LL TELL YOU WHY. I NO LONGER HAVE 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK BECAUSE I GOT 2 NEUTRALS. ONE OF WHICH SAID ' FAST DELIVERY, NICE COLOUR' THE OTHER SAYS THERE WAS A HAIR ON THE ITEM I SENT.
SO IS THE NEW FEEDBACK SYSTEM FAIR? I THINK IT JUST LEAVE SELLERS OPEN TO MORE TROUBLE FROM TIME WASTERS. YOU WILL NOT EVEN BE ABLE TO CHECK IF THE BUYER IS LIKELY TO WASTE YOUR TIME. THEY MAY HAVE 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK AND HAVE NEVER PAID FOR A SINGLE ITEM!
THEN JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT THAT WAS AS BAD AS IT GETS. IF A BUYER ACCIDENTLY LEAVES YOU A NEUTRAL OR NEGATIVE THEY CAN'T EVEN WITH DRAW IT. GREAT WAY TO SHOW THE GOOD SELLERS AS BAD IF YOU ASK ME!
OF COURSE THE BAD SELLER WHO STARTED ALL THIS ARE STILL TRADING. THEY ARE STILL MAKING THEIR MONEY FOR SELLING THEIR TAT. WHILE WE ARE ALL MADE TO LOOK BAD THANKS TO THEM.
THERE IS ONLY ONE REASON FOR THIS................
THEY MAKE MONEY FOR EBAY & PAYPAL (OWNED BY EBAY), LOTS OF IT. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN QUICKER AND EASIER AND FAIRER FOR EBAY TO SIMPLY BAN DISHONEST SELLERS . BUT THAT WOULD HAVE LOST EBAY & PAYPAL MONEY.
THEY HAVE SIMPLY SHOWN THEY ARE HAPPY TO TAKE OUR MONEY AND MAKE US LOOK BAD, WHILST STILL ALLOWING GOOD BUYERS TO GET RIPPED OFF BY ALLOWING BAD SELLER TO CONTINUE TRADING.
SO EBAY THEY ARE WRONG BY CLICKING ON MY HELPFUL LINK BELOW. SHOW THEM HOW THEY HAVE ANNOYED YOU.
