I am writing this guide about the fairing specifically the one sold by chigs362.It looks good in the picture and the text says it fits most makes of bike.Unpacking it from the box it looks good, but when offered up to the bike(in this case an ER5) it was obvious that it wouldn't fit without a very complicated bracket.OK if you can weld or you work in a machine shop, but not a lot of good for most people.Having made a bracket up to hold it in the right place, just about to fit it, I checked the lights.First it doesn't have a side light,an MOT failure in the UK.Could be overcome once again with a bit of fabrication and a separately mounted side light, more expense and time.Then I checked the head light.This is where it all got too much.There is no beam pattern.Having looked at the bulb set up, the difuser is in front of the bulb and the bulb itself has two filaments ,close together and neither has a shield to produce a beam pattern.This again is an MOT failure in the UK.I conclude that if you want one of these and are prepared for the hassle of changing it back to the original headlight each year for the MOT or every time a policeman issues a notice of rectification for an illegal part, and you are prepared for the hassle of fitting it in the first place, then its OK to buy one.If not then I would avoid it as it really isn't worth the hassle.
