We are constantly asked if a certain NOKIA LCD SCREEN will fit a particular model of phone.

Easy, you say! But there are poor quality fakes/copies on eBay that appear to be generic and fit a variety of phones. At least, that is what the seller implies!

These screens have been made in the Far East, and have been imported by UK sellers. They are sold as GENUINE, OEM, ORIGINAL, whatever label they choose to place on the LCD. But if NOKIA don't fit one particular screen to all the models of phone listed, then how can these be original. The answer is that they're not GENUINE, ORIGINAL or OEM (whatever that means!-see our guide on OEM!!)

For example. Many sellers are selling the 7610 LCD as ALSO FITTING the 6630, 3230, 6260 & 6670.

The ONLY other phone that this screen fits (if it is GENUINE) is the 6670. Look at the pictures below-

The 7610/6670 LCD (left) has a shorter connector than the 6260/6630 in the middle. The copies have been made so that the connector is longer allowing it to fit the other phones. The 3230 LCD on the right is slightly narrower than the other LCDs.

The 6260/6630 has EPSON on the front of the large connector on the bottom right.

The FAKE LCD is a poor, cheap copy and is not endorsed by NOKIA. Fitting this screen to your phone could invalidate your warranty. It certainly will not enhance your phone, nor give the same quality picture as an original NOKIA LCD.

If one LCD fits all 5 models, then why do Nokia sell different screens?

ALL NOKIA LCDs have a number on the reverse. This number is printed ON the reverse of the screen itself, not on a badly placed piece of sticky tape. Ask the seller what the number is. ALL NOKIA screens have the number - do not believe a seller who says that it has come off, or was on the supply tray or on the packing. If there is no number, then IT IS FAKE!!

Some sellers sell the 6680/N70 LCD as fitting the 6681-IT DOESN'T!

Let's now dispense with the BLUE/GREEN LCD argument surrounding the 6310i screen. The 6310i LCD also fits the 6310. It is NOT the LCD that gives the screen it's colour, but depends on the backlight on the circuit board. If your phone is a 6310i the screen will be GREEN, and if the phone is a 6310 the screen will be BLUE. Some sellers are selling 6310 phones in new 6310i covers so that you think that you are getting a bargain. If the screen is blue, you have bought a 6310 and it will not have bluetooth. So when buying a 6310i phone, ask what colour the screen is when it powers up!

The 5140i/ 6030 LCD is not compatible with a 5140 or a 6100 phone, regardless of what you might read on eBay. Nokia have seperate LCDs for these phones.

The 5140i is on the left. The 6100 is on the right and the 5140 in the middle. They don't even look the same!!

The LCD in the middle IS used by NOKIA in a number of phones - 7210, 7250, 7250i, 3200, 6610, 6610i, 6220, 2650 & 2600, BUT NOT the 3100 as a number of sellers suggest.

The 3100 LCD comes complete with SPEAKER + KEYDOME ASSEMBLY, like the 6100.

You also have to be wary as Nokia updated all these screens. The new LCDs may require updated software on some older phones to work properly. A lot of the older LCDs are being dumped cheap on Ebay. These screens will work with older phone models, but not with the later models. The new LCDs have improved clarity and colour, and this will improve even the earlier phone models if once fitted the software is upgraded. The Nokia 5140i LCD is ONLY compatible with NOKIA 6030.

The Nokia 6101,6102, 6060 & 7360 models all use the same LCD

The 6280 LCD also fits the 6270, and the 6680 LCD also fits the N70.

NOKIA LCDs DO NOT have chinese script on them, or even tags with chinese script. GENUINE NOKIA PARTS WILL NOT COME FROM A SELLER IN HONG KONG. We have regular buyers for NOKIA items from the Far East, who pay our retail prices and our shipping costs. WHY? Because they know that you can ONLY buy GENUINE NOKIA parts in EUROPE!!
