Recently I have noticed people buying e-bay items for way over RRP! and some of these items are not even new, they are second hand.

Take for instance the "Family Guy" dvd box-sets (seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6)... Recentley the prices for the box-sets have been reduced to £9.99p across the country inc Europe.

Places where these dvd box sets are sold are HMV and PLAY.com, prices also include delivery or free p&p.

No wonder people can make a living from selling of e-bay. The best thing to do is once you see something you want, see how much it is on a internet shopping site i.e moneysupermarket.com / HMV or similar. Get at least a average selling price for any item you are interested in from at least two different retailers before you bid - you may be supprised.

Some e-bay sellers sell you DVDs which have come from PLAY.com. Some e-bay sellers sell you these items at the same price as PLAY.com does - however some e-bay sellers charge you a delivery fee, however these come with FREE P&P.

So basicaly the e-bay seller is 'in theory' charging you for a admin fee, for ordering it for you (past experiance)

Search for the "Aliens box-set all the films 9discs - i think" and check how much inc p&p from e-bay sellers, then have a look how much PLAY.com sell it for inc free p&p. It just burns me to know people think "bargin" but in reality ripped off.

Not all e-bay sellers are like this and e-bay can only ever be as good as the people that use it, it does supprise me to know that so many members are not willing to check the average price of a product. That said, e-bay is a great place to buy and sell new and old. Alot of people dont need my advise but if I manage to make one person appriciate a bit of knowledge - and save them a few quid - im happy.

Blue ray dvds, check out prices for all three spider-man films, on e-bay - then check PLAY.com.
