ONLINE LIVE AUCTIONS, EBAY AND OTHERWISE.

Being in the Antique trade we have found some of these live auctions invaluable and do try and use them as often as allows.

Within the antique trade they are becoming more and more popular and means that you do not have to travel miles to view and bid on any item you are interested in.

You can browse at your leisure but if you do see an item you are interested in Please do email the auction house and ask for a condition report also make sure you do know all the extras you will have to pay for as well as the bid price, most Auction houses do add 20% to the final fee after they have added VAT so be aware your bid price is not the final price you pay. Then you have shipping fees on top but lots of auction houses do not post directly they pass you on to a carrier service.

You really need to view early, some have photos of their items online about 2 weeks before the date of the auction. Then ask all the relevant questions before you throw money at any item. Also do remember to Register as a bidder in plenty of time NOT on the day of the auction, as any delay in them giving you the OK can and does lead to many grey hairs, and the computer being verbally abused from a close distance. Been there done that...

On the whole it is enjoyable and you still can bag yourself a bargain, Give it a go.
