You may have noticed on ebay at the moment there are a lot of people advertising "Police Scanners" that you can download and listen to on your pc.All I can say is BEWARE!!,you can only listen to American police (ok if you live in America)NOT!! UK,plus half the links don`t work.One person to stay well clear of is `VGREPAIR` as you don`t get everything it says in the advert,as yet i haven`t found any links that actually work,some of the links i`ve clicked on have taken me to non-related sites.

 If you want a scanner to listen to police on in the UK and you`ve got the money( about £250-£300 )buy a proper DIGITAL scanner as the uk police now only transmit in digital.
