I couldnt write a review for this product, so Ive created a guide instead, for all those sceptical about buying body kit parts through ebay.
I was cautious about buying this part off ebay, as you never know if the part is going to be a good quality piece, or a good fit.
I bought the Peugeot 206 XSi GTi Bonnet vent off ebay for £40, which is less than half the price for a similar vent from Peugeot Specialist Ecosse. The vent arrived and was boxed in RGM stylings packaging, so I thought it should be alright.
The vent comes in plain black plastic, ready for spraying. The vent is of quite solid construction, and was nowhere near as flimsy as I expected a cheaper vent might be. When being pushed into place, the vent remained really solid, and didnt flex and crack the paint once I had applied it. Im really happy with the quality of the moulding of the vent, and Im happy that the material used to make it is up to the task.
The vent was a fairly tight fit, but once properly inserted and pushed up, it fits the bonnet very well. Only comment would be that of the 4 fixing holes, only 3 lined up really well, and a couple took some force to push the clips into but it wasnt a problem in any way. By having only 3 clips into the bonnet, it still holds its position and doesnt move around at all.
The bonnet vent was very easy to spray at home using rattle cans and 800 & 1200 grit wet and dry paper. Priming, spraying and lacquering took 2 evenings to do without rushing it, and it has held the primer and the paint very well. Just make sure you "scratch" the surface with wet paper before each coat of paint/primer, and wash it and dry it thoroughly after each sanding stage. Make sure you use proper plastic primer on the surface, it can be bought from halfords for around 6 quid. One 300ml can is more than enough for 4-5 coats of primer.
If your looking at one of these vents, I would say go for it. I was sceptical as I say, but Im very happy with the quality, appearance, fit and ease of preparing this vent, and would reccomend it.
