"Fake or Not Guide"

I recently purchased a pair of PRPS Slim 5 pocket black jeans from start-london.

I was very impressed by the presentation box that the item came in and the high quality of packaging.

Despite my initial thought, I was very shocked to find that the jeans were (made in China) and not (made in Japan).

This means that the jeans that they were selling for £199.50 were actually fakes..!

There were a few other discrepancies, such as:

There was no item label (under the made in.. label).

The studs were unbranded instead of the normal Seltex ones.

The inside pocket didn’t have PRPS stamped on it.

They weren’t selvage denim as said in the item description.

Also the stitching was very inferior and had already come apart.

I phoned them up and stated that the item was a fake and she said that they were a new style and that them not being made in Japan in no way effected the quality of the item.

Needless to say I am returning the item.
