Contacted Palicomp by telephone after winning auction, upgraded system, advised over phone,
that I could pay by Credit Card, no mention of any extra charge ( 4% ) asked for Total To Pay
and made a record of total, also asked for an invoice to be sent with delivery, nothing sent!
Contacted support ( 75p a minute ) re: broken and missing items, credit card charge, broken
item sent, still awaiting missing item, accounts eventually got in touch, stating read terms
and conditions. Why can`t this company adopt decent practice`s ?
Motherboard has only 2 PCI expansion slots and one IDE + 4 SATA, so not so good for
expansion, but is future-proofed in other areas. Installed components are high quality, with the
exception of memory and case. Build quality, slapdash, on setting up, I had to install floppy drive
correctly ( error 40 ) case front had been broken by being fitted wrongly, one memory chip was
seated loosely. A little more assembly time and better quality control is very much needed.
Packaging left a lot to be desired, one small piece of bubble wrap, broken support polystyrene,
plenty of sellotape!!! LCD Box damaged, missing lead, ( Overall impression - Disappointment )
Two things not mentioned on E-Bay listing, are the 75p a minute support line, and the 4% Credit
Card Charge, not good !
From the condition of the sent items, and within the timescale involved ( 2 working days )
I can only assume, that the goods sent to me, were already returned items, and after a quick
inspection, were sent out again ? I am very upset about my whole experience with this company,
and will not use them again, I have advised the OFT and the ASA.
This is my own personal experience, and in no way should this influence any future buyers
dealings with this company.
