If your looking at this guide your probably thinking of buying a Paslode Nailer. I would like to tell you about my experience. I do not work or have any connection with ITW the parent company which manufactures the paslode nailers.

Everyone wants a bargin which is why we all check out ebay when we want to buy something.  I know that many powertools are much cheaper in the US than they are in Europe. The Paslode nailers are nearly half price over the pond.

I bought a nail gun from an ebayer who sells the US models. I did not know that at the time of bidding as it was not mentioned. This seller was based in Ireland, however he is now not registered with ebay (I wonder why?) Check exactly what you are buying! Sounds obvious but read the advert carefully.

This info applies to the latest model IM350. UK models now have orange tips and rafter hooks. US models have both these features and also rubber soft grip handles. Currently no UK models have the soft black grip!

Why is it important to know which one your getting?

1. US models will have NO WARRANTY in the UK.

2. US models are slightly different as they are designed for imperial sized nails which are not the same size as our metric ones.

These differences may not be an issue, but my experience has been that my new nailer misfires or fires 2 nails at the same time approximately once every ten shots. Which is a real pain in the backside! The worst thing is that I can't take it back. Paslode UK dont want to know!

If you are going to get a nailer be aware that the initial saving getting a US model may cost you in the long run. If your buying new get a UK spec with a receipt and full warranty.

If you are buying a US nailer the price MUST be very keen! Not just a 20 or 30 pound saving. Remember that imported goods from the US are subject to VAT and Import Duty. That can be an extra 25% on the final value of the auction. You might be lucky and get away with not paying these taxes if the seller marks the tool as a gift, but you probably will have to pay them on items of high value such as Paslodes.

Thanks for reading,

Sasitron.
