Being an insane pramaholic I have had many many pushchairs and am on the constant look out for the 'perfect' buggy - although as any self respecting pramaholic knows there is actually no such thing! However, having taken delivery recently of a Petite Star Zia I felt compelled to write this.
Having changed my car only to find that only my dull old Maclaren Techno would fit in the boot I found myself in a position where I had to sell my collection and get something smaller to fit (nothing wrong with Techno's - just that everyone has them!). The lovely lady in our local nursery shop pointed me in the direction of the Zia (not sure how i had missed it so far!) so at only £99.99 it certainly seemed worth a blast.
Now basically it looks pretty much exactly like the Zapp and folds very nearly as small but it is lighter, reclines really low (not totally flat but not all that far off) and has a basket! The handles are much comfier than the zapp, the suspension much softer and therefore a comfier ride and the fold is a billion times easier too. Basically the Zia addresses all the faults of the Zapp - I could never for the life of me see why anyone would pay £150 rrp for a buggy that didn't recline to be honest.
The only negative point is the basket is pretty inaccessible when the seat is reclined - but this is usually the case with smaller type buggies anyway (like my Techno) and it does not convert to a travel system like the Zapp can. But hey, for £100 it is an utter bargain - and you should see the looks I get from Zapp owners when my little one is sound asleep lying back comfortably in his Zia!!
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
