I spent hours of my time and energy whilst heavily pregnant with my son traipsing around shops looking for a suitable double pushchair that would cover all my needs, if I can help you decide to purchase one of these pushchairs (or not) then I hopefully have saved you the tiresome trek I endured.

Well what can I say, Phil & Ted's pushchairs are truely the Mercedes of double pushchairs.  The pneumatic tyres mean the steering is a bit like power steering!  I love the fact that it can accomodate either one or two children.  I am yet to find a shop door that I cannot get through because this pushchair is as slim as a single pushchair.  I can push it with one hand with two children in, so if you had a disability, injury or struggled with a large double buggy this really is the pram for you.  It allowed me to remain totally independent having three children I can still pop to the shops no problem.

What put me off the tandem pushchairs was the thought of pushing the child in the front half way into the road before I even stepped off the pavement and the heavier child always seems to have to sit in the front making the pushchair heavy to lift up kerbs etc.  The problem I had with the side by side version was fitting through shop doors and up and down shop aisles.

Anyway going back a bit, about the tyres,  I managed to get a puncture, I was truly horrified at the thought of the repair (I can never seem to repar the childrens bikes)  It took me less than 10 mins from start to finish!!!  I was amazed and quietly pleased with myself.  This pram is a magnet for total strangers, wherever I go I get into conversation about the marvellous design, how they wished they'd of had one etc

Everything in life is not perfect and if I was to help re-design this pushchair  I would make it a little lighter, as it is rather heavy to lift in and out of the car boot.  I would make the footwell a little stronger, because mine has torn a little along the edges.  I would higher the shopping basket because it has caught the kerb on a few occasions.  More importantly though people really don't know a baby is in there so take care in positioning the pushcair (especially in cafes) so nobody knocks the baby!  Also you will not be able to fit a buggy board to the rear of this pram due to the position of the brake.

I bought mine brand new off Ebay and saved approx £140!  So there are bargains to be had, no need to pay top prices from the high streets.  I also picked up a nifty little gadet called buggy buddy for a few pounds, which allows you to clip extra shopping bags to the side of the handle (again off Ebay).  You can also pick up a small sized bicycle pumps that will fit neatly into your hand bag or if you purchase the pannier bags you'll have plenty of room to put inside and carry it with you.  Hope this helps!
