STOP PRESS UPDATE!!! Further to my other guides, I am absolutely appalled at eBay's apparent lack of concern about the huge number of fake Decker UGGS ("UGG Australia") on eBay. Even though items are reported they seem to refuse to take the listing down. I wanted to post a rogues gallery but in their wisdom eBay only allow 10 pictures to a guide so please look at my other guides for pictures. In the meantime, here's the first 10 pictures of FAKE Classic Tall Decker UGGS.
The giveaway is either the blue or brown label pinned onto the boot and/or a dust bag in either dark or light brown that says 'Snow Boots' - real Decker UGGS do not have any of these items!! Also, note some of the soles where there is a distinct 'line' before the heel area - the tread on real UGGS doesn't have this sharp line.
The fakers have also become very good lately and have now started to get the ®, next to the UGG logo on the sole in place. The heel label is now often the best way of spotting fakes. In the real item, the ®, is right in the middle of the open jaws of the 'G', in many fakes it is right at the top of the jaw - see photo in my main guide for a better comparison. In many fake UGGS, the label is also too high up on the heel. If you are not sure look at the real ones in a High Street shop.
If you think any of these pictures are yours then please examine your conscience - you are guilty of ripping people (often youngsters) off. If as a seller, you think you are an innocent victim then please go along to the high street, compare your supposed UGGS with those in the shops and then 'collar' your supplier. Please help stamp out this wicked trade.
If you are thinking of buying, please proceed with caution - the photos below are of FAKE Decker UGGS.
These first two have the tell tale sign of the blue label that says "UGG Boots". Also note the dust bag that says "Snow Boots" in the second picture. All signs of fakes. The care card and authenticity certificate are also faked (not hard to do really!)
Next up is an example of very common fakes in the UK. They have a pinned on label that says "Made by CGM Co. Ltd" These boots have nothing to do with Decker Australia UGGS - they are complete fakes. Again the care card and so called authenticity certificate are absolute fakes!
The fakes shown below have three classic signs of a fake. 1 - The box label carries and Australian flag - wrong! No such label exists for a genuine Decker UGG. 2 - Look at the sole pattern - there should NOT be a rigid line where the wavy line meets the heel area - same thing where it meets the toe area - if the line is a rigid straight line then this a sure fire FAKE. 3. The pinned on label - quite often saying "Made (or Originated) by CGM Co.Ltd" - Genuine Decker UGGS have no pinned on label and are absolutely NOT made by this company.
This next pair of fakes, shown below, stand out because yet again they have the fake pinned on tag (that says "originated by CGM Co.Ltd")
These fakes have the totally wrong sole pattern - where there is a rigid line at the end of the wavy sole pattern.
You can probably tell for yourself what's wrong with these boots:-
These boots have that awful dust bag (saying "Snow Boots"). The heel label is also far too high:-
Here's a picture fo that label that confirms the boots to be fake. No authentic Decker UGG Australia has either this label or the 'leather' label pinned on to it. Absolute fakes and there are huge numbers of these in the UK:-
Finally, here's another variation. Again, a light brown pinned on label and a dust bag. Both of these items signify that the boots are 100% FAKE Decker UGG Australia boots!!
