Before deciding what to buy take a close look at what you are going to polish and what you want to achieve, If the metal, be it a bike part, car or even a copper pot is in good condition but badly tarnished then polishing will be a simple process, and the basic polishing items are all that are needed to get a mirror finish.

If on the other hand there are rusty spots ot pitted marks then a bit more may be required,. but its by no means a lost cause.

Theres no doubt it can sometimes be a messy business but you can achieve a perfect finish with what is availabe nowadays, no need to use so much elbow grease and a tin of brasso.

Get your self a decent hand drill (not a cordless as the torque can vary) or bench grinder or even one of those dremmel type machines for the likes of small candlesticks, and your half way there, it will suprise you how easy it is to get your treasures looking their best.
