The original value of the United Kingdom Crown was Five Shillings. Queen Elizabeth II Crowns come in two values, namely five  shilling or twenty-five pence and five pounds. The reason for this is because as a result of inflation, it was decided in 1990 that future issues of crown sized coins would have a face value of Five Pounds.

The Three Issues of the Five Shilling Queen Elizabeth II Crown Coin

Only three Queen Elizabeth II Crown Coins were issued before decimalisation in 1971.

1953
Queen Elizabeth's Coronation Crown. The first Five Shilling Crown was to celebrate the coronation and shows the Queen riding on horseback.
1960    New York Exhibition Crown. The second was a more conventional crown with the same reverse and was struck for the British Trade Fair in New York, but this time the obverse shows the Mary Gillick portrait of the Queen.
1965   Churchill Commemorative Crown. The final crown before decimalisation was struck after the death of Sir Winston Churchill. There are two varieties of this Crown, differing on the reverse in the shape of the R.

The Four Issues of the Twenty-Five Pence Queen Elizabeth II Crown Coin

Only four Queen Elizabeth II Twenty-Five Pence Crowns were issued before the revaluation of the crown to Five Pounds.

1972
Queen's Silver Wedding Anniversary Crown. The first twenty-five pence crown was struck to commemorate the Queen's 25th Wedding Anniversary.
1977   Queen's Silver Jubilee Crown. The second was struck to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Queens Accession to the throne.
1980   Queen Mother's 80th Birthday Crown. The third twenty-five pence crown was struck to commemorate the Queen Mother's 80th Birthday.
1981   Charles & Diana Wedding Crown. The last twenty-five pence crown was struck to commemorate the Royal Wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer
