The Stylish Quinny Buzz All Terrain Stroller, which has won critical acclaim in Europe, has arrived on our shores, and I had the opportunity to take it out for a spin. What I found was exactly what we have come to expect from many of the products that come from across the pond, the seamless integration of style and functionality. Beside the head turning style, I was amazed by how the Quinny Buzz handled. Quinny's Buzz is a three wheel stroller sporting large air filled rear tires with pneumatic suspension, and a swivel dual front wheel unit. What this translated into was a shockingly smooth ride over rough terrain. Pushing it around in a more urban setting, I really enjoyed the ease with which the Buzz maneuvers. The Quinny Buzz turns on a dime, with such little effort you can control it with one hand.

The Quinny Buzz is probably most famous for it's Automatic Opening feature. This worked exactly like the manufacturer described! Just lift up on the handle and it magically unfolds. I found this particularly useful while holding a fussy 2 year old and only having one free hand. The gas spring loaded frame that makes this possible does make it feel a little stiff when trying to close it, but that is a small price to pay for the one handed setup. When I did get it folded down, it was quite compact. With the wheels and seat still attached it was 39” x 26” x 12”. Take the wheels and the seat off and it folds down to 27” x 12” x 4”!

The Quinny Buzz stroller also sports most of the features that come standard on strollers these days: An adjustable handle, sun canopy, adjustable harness, removable & locking wheels, adjustable & removable seat. The seat has three different recline positions with the child facing away, and two position with the child facing you. While the Buzz does not have a standard storage basket or net, it does come with a convenient zippable “Box” that snaps on and off the frame. The Quinny Buzz also comes with a ran cover and a bug net, and has a number of accessories sold separately.

Also, I should note that the seat back does not completely recline to put the child in a flat position. Instead the child stays in the seated position and the whole seat reclines back. I don't consider this a positive or a negative, it is just different than any other stroller I have seen. That being said the seat itself is very solid and appears to be rather comfortable.

Ultimately I would equate my experience with the Quinny Buzz to my experience driving my Mercedes for the first time. Having never driven one, I assumed the price tag merely reflected the elegant styling, and a name slapped on an engine and four wheels like every other car out there. Once I got behind the wheel, I truly understood what solid engineering and simplicity were all about.
