Eliminate those scraped knuckles and fingertips when you try to remove rhinestones from clawset or prong set jewellery.
Use a large nail clipper. The blade will slip snugly beneath the claw, just enough to prize it back to remove the stone.
Cemented stones can sometimes be lifted off by first standing the object in boiling hot water for about 1-2 minutes. This sometimes softens the cement enough to lift the stone safely without damaging the foil. It doesn't work every time but worth a try.
