Going vintage can produce unique and one off styles which can only otherwise be acheived by spending extortionate amounts of money on contempory designer clothing.
Vintage clothing can also shoehorn itself into genres and cultural groupings, like mod movements and more recently nu rave.
Quality vintage clothing has already stood the test of time and wear, something which is hard to come by with todays cheaper synthetics used in the high street
Vinatge clothing is environmentally sustainable, not relying on fossil fuel burning imports and also counteracts against our modern "throw away" society.
Ethically it is well documented that the production of modern day clothing abroad utilizes cheap labour in developing countries and possibly illegal child labour. Textile production in the 1960s-80s rarely breached these ethical boundries.
New contempory items are often/copied /reproductions of vintage styles so why accept no imitations. It is better to own the original!
