Recognising skin types is important when it comes to Skin Care, because only then can yuou choose the right products for the different skin types

To recognise a skin type is not difficult if you know what to look for.  When defining a skin type, pay attention to:

  • sebal activity
  • the size of the pores
  • the structure of the skin

Dry Skin

Dry skin can be identified by it's constant tightness.  The skin never feels oily, but is dry especially after cleansing.  Dry skin is usually hereditary and demands attentive care especially during winter, because the dry air makes the skin even more demanding. The skin is beautiful and easy to look after when it's young.  However, this skin type ages quicker than any other skin type and develops surface lines.

  • sebal activity - There is not enough activity in the sebal glands, so the skin often feels tight.  Because there is no protective sebum layer at the surface of the skin, the moisture evaporates.
  • structure - The skin is thin and resembles silk paper, especially older skin.  Like a "dried apple". The surface of young skin is even
  • pore size The pores are barely visible. No impurities.
  • care - The care aims to normalise the sebal activity, apply moisture and oil to the skin and protect it from irritations, because when the skin lacks in sebum it is more exposed to various irritating factors.
      1. Use products for dry skin, which contain moisture and oil but no alcohol or other astringents or antiseptic ingredients.
      2. Avoid tap water
      3. Use a face scrub once a week
      4. Use a  moistuising face mask as often as needed, even once a day!
