Revision Guides
Revision Guides. Most students buy them at some point and most of us buy the wrong ones or never look at them. Some of us never buy a revsion book because of the costs but in my opinion we need them!
The best guides are those specifically for your syllabus or exam board, that way you know that you will need everything in the book rather than picking bits and bats out of guides for the subject as a whole or for every exam board under the sun. I recommend the guides for a particular exam board, these include all the information and practice questions written by the people who will be writing your exam so it will include everthing you need to know and leave out all the stuff you don't.
My brother made the mistake of buying one of those "G.C.S.Es in a week" guides. If it only took a week we wouldnt spend 5 years at secondary school would we? I would only get one of those if I had revised everything thoroughly for a number of weeks and was using it to do quick revision a week before the exam.
For kids in primary school or people who get bored with revision (which is pretty much all of us!) the best guides are those with colourful pictures and diagrams which put the important bits in big, colourful fonts and make the page a bit more interesting. CGP are best at this.
I definatly recommend revision guides, they're helpful for class work, coursework and of course exams. The cost shouldn't mater if it means you get a grade A at the end of it. Most guides are reasonably priced but a better option would be to get your school or college to order a bulk load for the class to buy from them, trust me it's a lot cheaper this way.
I've currently got a revision guide listed on Ebay selling for 40p which is a lot cheaper than the £6.99 I bought it for. It's a C.G.P guide for G.C.S.E french. The guide helped me get an A! If you're interested then check it out!
I've been a student for 14 years and counting, I was predicted a D at the most for my G.C.S.E subjects but by using revision guides to help with class work etc I got As and Bs!
