Rope lights are the classic simple solution. Easy to use and look great if installed properly.

Rope lights provide instant decoration, and are by far the quickest and easiest of lights to install and setup. Incredibly versatile and practical, Rope Lights can be used to decorate for any occasion. Rope lights are flexible, and can be twisted to any desired shape as a result they can use them for literally hundreds of applications.

There are more pro's than cons for rope lights but here are the main ones to consider when puchasing

PRO's:

  • If you use mounting clips you can easily accent architectural lines and have a professional looking display.
  • LED's are expensive, yes, however will outlive traditional rope lights 4 times over.
  • Create amazing moods with different colours
  • All our rope lights have fuse bulb (if one bulb fails the rest stay lit)
  • Perfect for bars, night clubs, decking, kitchen units and even tree trunks for that tropical look!
CON's:
  • If you choose competitively priced rice bulb (non led) rope lights then be prepared for a lot of heat, power consumption and a liability to fail if you dont care for it (i.e dropping it on the ground heavily or standing on it)
  • Cheaper rope lights are clear bulbs with a coloured tube. They are cheap, yes but they also don't look as good as LED.

What to remember
  • Most rope lights are 13mm diameter so make sure if you are driven by price that they have regulation thickness on the flex.
  • Make sure you don't bend your rope light too much. These lights do not like 90 degree angles and you will definitely damage the cable / bulbs if you try to bend around corners that are too extreme!
  • Our rope light have 36 bulbs per metre. This is a high amount for a better spread of light. Most retailers sell rope lights cheaper but they are usually 24 bulbs per metre. You can work this out by dividing the total amount of bulbs by the length of your rope light. EG: Lights4fun LED 8m Rope Light = 288 Bulbs / 8 = 36 Bulbs Per Metre.
  • You CANNOT cut multi action rope lights, these are sealed units - if you want to make custom lenghts you can buy off the reel lengths from some retailers, however you will pay a premium. We sell LED rope light reels in 44m and 90m length at £250 and £520 respectively.

Rope lights look great when stretched in a single line on buildings to outlining edges, along roof lines, across the garage, pergola, shed or fence, anywhere! Why stick to straight lines? Rope lights can easily be wrapped around banister rails, along stairways and around columns meaning that they require no other fixtures or fittings to hang them.

  • Simple and fast illumination
  • Write your name or create your own design
  • Extra Long Life LED Energy Saving bulbs
  • Bulbs remain lit even should one fail

Flexible Rope Lights

Another fantastic use for Rope Lights is to use them to create your own unique designs and patterns. You can fix them either on a vertical, sloped or horizontal surface and twist and turn the lights into snowmen, Santas, snowflake, angels, well anything so go crazy!

Why not write a festive message in rope lights, 'Merry Xmas', 'Happy Noel', 'HoHoHo!' or write another word or name, for another year round celebration.

Circuit Preservation System

Lights4Fun asks you to beware of cheap rope lights, all our rope lights are of a high quality and are suitable for indoor and outdoor use. They have a fuse bulb technology which means if a bulb did go out it would not take out a whole section the rest of the bulbs would remain lit. These rope lights are made to IP44 specification which means they are weatherproof.
