Why pay for Multi-Room .?  Why pay for SKY to come and install when it's *so* easy to DIY .?

Did you know that you can watch the output from your SKY box on multiple televisions .?

It's so easy - see my guide below.

In short you need to run a co-ax cable from your SKY or SKY+ box to the other TV.  Connect one end to the TV aerial socket on the TV and the other to the RF1 or RF2 output on the SKY box.  See my guide below to enabling the outputs and tuning the TV.

We recommend using as high grade coaxial cable as you can get.  The cable needs the old fashioned TV aerial UHF connectors.  These are very basic and can ruin the signal - we recommend using satellite 'f' connectors and a converter to get the best signal throughput.  We also recommend H109 cable as it is all-copper, double-screened constuction.

Did you know you can change channel from the remote TV by using a 'magic eye' TVLink .?

If you fit a TVLink between the cable and the remote TV, you can change channel from the other room - the signal is sent down the cable to the RF2 socket (it has to be RF2)

*Note - the RF2 cable isn't always enabled as default, see my notes below to enable it.*

Why not buy another remote control to have in the bedroom .?

Enabling the RF2 socket and tuning the other TV

To install your TV Linkyou will need to run a length of H109 coax cable from the socket marked RF2 on the back of your Sky Digibox directly to the TV you wish to watch Sky on.

Simply plug the cable into one side of the TV Link and then plug the TV Link into the TV aerial socket.

If the red LED does not light on the TV Link you will have to enable the RF2 output on your SKY Digibox :

Press SERVICES
Press 4 for SYSTEM SET-UP
Press 0 , 1, SELECT - you should now see the ‘Installers Menu’
Press 4 - ‘ RF OUTLETS’
Scroll down to ‘RF OUTLET POWER SUPPLY and right arrow to change to ‘ON’.
Make a note of the ’RF CHANNEL NUMBER’ generally this is set to 68
Scroll down to ‘SAVE NEW SETTINGS’ and Press SELECT to store the changes
Press BACKUP to go Back to your Sky channel

Having done this you will find that the little red LED light on the TV Link will now be lit confirming that you have correctly turned on the power to the link and that your cable and connectors have been fitted correctly.

Now tune the TV to the SKY Digibox signal.
To do this select the TV channel you wish to be for SKY then tune this in to the number you made a note of previously i.e. 68.

When this is completed when everything is switched on you should now be able to view your SKY channels you will find you can control your digibox functions from here using a Sky remote control (or Sky+ remote control if you have a Sky+ machine)
