One of the most common problems affecting many older or the earlier models is yellowing. Light, pale coloured or transparent SWATCH WATCHES seem to be more susceptible.

But the fact remains that a white strap, still sealed on it display card and stored in a dark drawer or cupboard for many years, when brought out into the light had begun to yellow. White SWATCH WATCHES that have been stored in their boxes for many years have suffered from yellowing. And even white watches in acrylic tubes or boxes on display have tended to discolour over time. So sunlight, most peoples choice for yellowing, is not the only culprit.

New SWATCH WATCHES stored in dark places, like attics cupboards etc,from new seem not to suffer, yet others that have either been used or displayed, then stored come out of storage with discolouration.

A collector commented recently that it is fast becoming a way of spotting fakes, as it can't be replicated by the fraudsters.
