Sold a Sony Ericsson Camera Phone in back in February 2006.  Received an email to my personal email address reputedly from PayPal, carrying all the usual verification logos etc, advising me of the payment received to their account.  They could not release the money to my PayPal account until I advise them of the tracking number for the item purchased.  I duly sent the item to Nigeria as instructed and obtained the tracking number, which was forwarded to the PayPal address provided.  Needless to say the whole purchase and PayPal notification was completely bogus.  No money (£147.00) was ever deposited into my account and I was also left with no phone.  Ebay & PayPal revoked any responsibility.  The email I initially received was truly identical to the PayPal mails we always receive, there is very little evidence that this was bogus.  Sellers Beware.
