There are some scrap silver bars,which are coated color to sale in ebay, how to identify, review the sellers who you are planning to bid, read the past almost a month or 2months back record about the same silver bar, if the seller is selling newly, await for more feedbacks, some of the feedbacks claims a metal rod painted to look like silver bars. I too sell silver bars now and then, but my items are tested by the local jewellers when i buy or bid, just to make sure the quality is true.
