Over 90% of all Bluetooth Dongles sold on eBay are Bluesoilel Brand but is never stated on the listing this guide is intended to help you fix problems you might encounter installing it to maximise the Bluetooth capabilties of your device and PC or laptop

Please Note this guide applies only to Window XP SP2 and all versions of Bluetooth (v1.1, v2.0, v2.1)

I have used up to 5 Bluetooth dongles from different manufacturers, Three are from Blusoilel, One from Belkin and last one from Logitech Keyboard and Mouse bundle (MX5000), and they all worked fine under the same environment, The main difference is their price, while blusoilel is the cheapest (90% of Bluetooth dongles sold on eBay are Bluesoilel, they mostly have transperent cases although not all and usually they are below £7 pnp inc) Belking, Trust and Logitect are more expensive, but I notice that where people tend to have problems is with installation (Especially with Bluesoilel).

All the Bluetooth dongles I have used all came with their own device drivers and management software and documentation, in the CD or downloaded, You can use either the management application software that came with the device (Third party software) or your friendly Windows own management application properties, there normally have the same properties and characteristics, The main difference is in the User Interface, while Windows and Belkin and Logitech has similar object transfer feature (i.e. Right Click and Send To Bluetooth Device/Bluetooth e.t.c), Blusoilel you have to call up the software in other to do this, and Blusoilel has all it controls (i:e. Discovery Settings, Configuration, Pairing, Etc) in same window, Logitech and Belkin have theirs in the System Control Panel beside the Windows own, The problem Is you can only use one Bluetooth management application on a PC not both, if you install Blusoilel management application software, you can not use windows application, even though you will see Bluetooth Devices in you Control Panel and when you right click you will notice “Send To Bluetooth Device” but it will not work, because Windows gives preference to the device software, same thing with Belkin and Logitech, to enable windows application you have to un-install the previous own completely, Logitech and Belkin software are normally easy to un-install as they can be un-installed from Add and Remove Programs in the Control Panel, while Blusoilel however you have to insert the CD that came with the dongle, run it and click un-install, If you get any prompts click remove all then reboot.

I notice most poeple try to use windows own management and they normally acounter this problem , They install the device driver and/or software then go to Control Panel - Bluetooth Devices - Options; try the device discovery or turn discovery on they get the following message “Bluetooth Service Error”  This error is as a result of either you have not connected your device or you have not installed “it’s” driver correctly or you still have the drivers from a previous version running on your PC  or there is another Bluetooth management software already running on your PC, (i.e you are tring to use Windows own application properties) I normally fix this problem with a complete Un-installation of the previous software drivers as well as is management software as explained above, then a clean Re-installation, this by inserting the dongle let Windows search by itself (ensure you use XP SP2 for it has is own generic Bluetooth drivers included in the OS), if it doesn't find it or recognise it, then insert the CD allow Windows to search there, BUT DO NOT INSTALL the third party file sharing software/application that came with the device or any one you are using, when windows finds and install's the driver, your PC is Bluetooth enabled,

Which ever you decide to use i.e. whether the Windows Management application or the device own application, the next thing is pairing, all the devices you intend connecting with your PC must be discovered either by Windows Bluetooth Devices in the Control Panel (If using Windows) or the device own Bluetooth Configuration for Belkin and Logitech this feature can be found in the Control Panel, While Blusoilel you have to call the software up from Start -All Programs-Blusoilel, Pair all the devices so that you can maximize their Bluetooth capability, also refer to device documentation for further advice, once paired say you are using Windows Bluetooth management application, windows will automatically load all drivers associated with the paired device, while the rest you have to configure this in control panel or associated Bluetooth management software, that is if your have installed the third party software that came with the paired device (i:e phone, camera, e.t.c software which is recommended), All my handsets and Bluetooth enabled devices I have used in the last 4 yrs are all Plug and Play once it has been paired with my PC, If you do a device discovery or Add device and you don’t see your device listed on the displayed items, take your device closer to the dongle and try again, if it doesn’t work switch Off and On your device and try again, ensure you have your device Bluetooth on and the Discovery mode on

I noticed while using Blusoilel User interface that when I pair my devices (I have already installed the paired device software in my PC), and say the paired device has some special features for example my Sony Ericsson W800i handset has remote control as in I can use my W800i as a mouse, this feature do not easily work under Bluesoilel software application, it needs a bit of further configuring when paired, however with Belking and Logitect Software application once I pair the handset Windows detects 'New Handware device' loads all drivers and installs it automatically, So I over come this by using  using Windows Bluetooth application management (that is if am using Bluesoilel USB dongle), same thing happens to all my other paired devices, Bluesoilel software easy to use if all you want to do is to transfer files between the paired device and your PC (Is the easiest in this regard), for specialist applications like the one described above or you want to configure SMS PC managemnet or Optimise your handset/device (say Bluetooth Headset, e.t.c) capabilities I sugest you use Windows Management application instead of Blusoilel' appliction or you get the more expensive ones.

In all I find the Windows Bluetooth management application most user friendly to use but a bit difficult to configure while Logitech and Belkin Bluetooth management application easeir than Bluesoilel since the last two have similar features/interface with Windows Bluetooth management application however Bluesoilel USB Bluetooth dongle is cheapest I have seen on eBay (This is an important Design Criteria), So I would also recommend it, It depends on your pocket but they all have the same features under Windows Bluetooth management

For Older Operating Systems (OS) or other ones I would advice you should use the thrid party's own application management software that came with it.
