Preparing The Area

Before casting any spell it is important to choose and prepare the area first. Spells can be cast almost anywhere however some of the more prefered option are your altar, a dedicated altar or a clear working space in your home.

Which ever you choose the area should be cleared of clutter, safe for candles to be burned and somewhere you will not be disturbed by other people or things like the phone going off.

Once you have chosen and cleared the area so there is enough room for your spell supplies the next step is to clear the area and energies surrounding it. This can be done with either a smudge stick of white sage or some clearing/purification incense.

Once the area is cleared its then time to prepare yourself.

Preparing Yourself

Its important before casting any spell to prepare your body and mind. In an ideal world this would constist of a spell preparation bath using either a herbal tea or specially made bath product. While in the bath you can wash away the energies of the day, prepare your mind for the spells ahead and cleanse your body. Spend time thinking about the outcome of the spell and the spell itself. A ritual soap can be used also, the oils and scents of the soap or bath products will add energy to your spell.

If you are casting a quick spell a ritual bath is not always something you can take time out to do. Walking through purification incense or the smoke of a smudge stick can prepare you for ritual work and using a ritual soap to wash you hands before starting the spell is also very effective.

Ritual and Spell Products

I am writing this guide as i feel sometimes the preparation before the spell or ritual can be over looked, not because i feel you should buy your products from me. There are many shops offline including a few supermarkets that sell essential oils bath salts and soaps, you may even already have some at home. Choose an essential oil/s that coincide with your spell, for instance rose and jasmine essential oils for love and then find a product that contains these ingredients. The more natural the better!! Sage sticks are available on and offline however if you cannot get hold of them burning sage with some frankincense resin works great. The trick is experiment and see what works for you and the way you like to cast your spells!!!
