Firstly: a dodgy seller always, without exception states "NO RETURNS". This of course is a lie, Paypal will insist that a return is accepted if the goods don't match the description BUT not all buyers know that so the dodgy seller gets away with it some of the time.

Watch out for the apparent dyslexics who spell like Les Dawson played piano. I assume they want you to feel sorry for them because they are thick. Les Dawson was actually a very clever piano player. Av sin to manny bad spellas hoo amasingally get cured the minute they are accurately and precisely  invoicing you.

Dodgy sellers don't care about quoting accurate p&p - after all it's you that pays it not them. "Sellers Standard Rate" is nearly always a lie - check their other items and you'll see they have a different standard rate for everything! At best it means the sellers too lazy to check the true rate - at worst it conceals a nasty overcharge.

Dodgy sellers are often selling it for someone else. Presumably they think this means it's someone elses fault if it's a faulty item.

Dodgy sellers claim to know nothing about what they are selling; Presumably they think this means it's your fault if its a faulty item.

There are many honest sellers who can't spell on eBay. There are many who are genuinely ignorant and whose descriptions are over-detailed as they try to describe everything without knowing what is relevant. Many are genuinely selling on behalf of another. Many have no idea about p&p and they  will welcome good advice. You can't possibly guess who is straight and who is a con-merchant. What you can rely on is that con-merchants don't willingly accept returns: only honest sellers do that.
