The scammers have come up with yet another new method to obtain your username and password.
You will receive an invoice, supposedly from eBay for your monthly account bill.
The invoice has links in it and if you click on them you will be taken to a false eBay website where you will have to log in and at theat point you have given away your account details.
There are some obvious givaways that show it is a scam.
(a) It will always be in US dollars and since UK account holders pay in stirling this is clealry wrong.
(b) The due date of the invoice is not the same as the one you usually receive
(c) The title is usually...'Your monthly eBay Invoice is now available for online viewing.'
(d) There is no reference number at the bottom of the email
If you get one of these this is what you should do.
(1) NEVER click on any of the links.
(2) Forward the offending email to eBay and just forget all about it. The scammer does not know you, these are always random.
This is an example of one such email, I have removed the offending links.....
