TKO - WTF is a TKO? eBay Jargon, but eBay Don't Know
You may have received a TKO NOTICE from eBay. This will tell you that your account has been "taken over". If so, you may be wondering what TKO stands for. We certainly wondered what it meant, and tried to find out...

Nobody Knows!
Today, we got an eBay Alert Message, with a TKO warning. Our first port of call when we think of a question like this is to use Google, and we can usually find the answer in seconds. Today was different.
We tried several search criteria including:
tko ebay
tko ebay jargon
tko ebay jargon glossary
what does tko mean
what does tko mean ebay
what does tko stand for
what does tko stand for ebay
tko tko ebay
ebay jargon glossary

... and failed to find the answer.

Bulletin Boards
We did find thousands of bulletin board entries from people who had received TKO's and who discussed them as though they had been born, bred and brought up with them, but nobody actually gave an answer to the question.

eBay Help Search (No Help!)
We also tried searching the eBay help system, and found nothing (but that didn't surprise us).

The Answer
We decided that as soon as we got time, we would add an eBay guide about TKO's. We spoke to our Power Seller Personal Account Manager (you qualify for one of these if eBay extract a certain monthly fee level from your selling activities), she didn't know. One of her colleagues phoned us back later, and he didn't know either, but he guessed it stood for TaKeOver! (Apparently in eBay jargon ATO stands for Account Take Over).
If we manage to get a better explanation, we will add it to this guide, but until then...

TKO = TaKeOver

WTF?
Please don't ask what WTF stands for!
