As a reader myself my concern is that tarot readings maintain a good standard. So what might lead to a disappointing reading? First of all, read the listing carefully - there are quite a few different types of reading - some are 'classic' tarots, some are oracular readings using modern decks such as fairy and angel cards - which are not Tarot, though work by similar principles. There are also different Tarot card spreads on offer. Tarot is essentially a face to face process - using eMail presents issues, mainly from the lack of two way communication. Face to face, the right type of spread is quickly determined. An initial spread can be followed-up.The traditional Celtic Cross reading is used to identify issues and questions which can then be explored in greater detail, a problem if you have just one spread.
As of the end of April 2008, it is contrary to eBay policy to offer 'digital items' - all such items - for the most part, those classified as information services - are now banned from eBay (or to be more precise, will only be permitted in the form of CLASSIFIED ADS). This affects Tarot Readings which, despite having their own eBay category are largely sold in e-Book format and sent by email. Tarot Readings which are printed and posted will be allowable, and as far as I am aware at time of writing, the same can be said of readings which are presented as a video or slide show and sold on a CD or DVD. This info makes this guide for the simple reason that buyers now have tangible things to consider and compare when choosing a reading - do you prefer e-Books or printed items, or would you prefer a reading on a disc? How much is being charged for postage/shipping/handling? If the item is being printed, will it be in colour or black and white? Will my printer handle it? What size is it? If it is on a disc, what format? Will I need certain software in order to view my reading? If the listing doesn't address these queries - ask! More than ever, I suspect, the contact seller option will be an essential one.
Check the reader's feedback and then use the email option to 'talk' with your selected reader/s first and identify what is most appropriate for you.All readers have different styles - you might want a simple answer to a question or you might want to know all the side issues, the card associations and symbols, the whole story. So, read the listing, check the feedback, talk to the reader (email) - then buy.
