The Chloe Paddington

This is the HARDEST bag to get this year. If you flip through the latest mags, only the hippest "it" girls have it. The Blue Nuit is as hard to get as the secret ingredient in coca cola. If you can't get your hands on this must have colour, you can settle for the chocolate (fab!), red (yummy!), camel (classic!), or electric cobalt blue (ice!). NETAPORTER sold 376 bags in 36 hours and now has 700 names on their wait list.

Why do we love this bag? The leather is super slouchy and soft but ultra durable and scratch resistant. The medium size is functional for everyday and its perfect for a fun night of clubbing as well. The pockets on both sides are great for sliding in your cell phone and keys. The downside, it weighs in at a hefty three pounds! The lock alone is half a pound but the Paddington is just not the same without it so us fashion slaves will just have to look fabulous toting it straight to our chiropractors office.

How to tell a genuine one from a fake? The fakes are darn good I have to say.

1) The most obvious one is that the fakes have serial numbers embossed on a leather tag inside the bag. The genuine one does not

2) The Chloe embossing font on the genuine bag
is slimmer than the ones on the fakes. Unless you have the genuine bag next to a fake, you won't be able to tell just by looking.

3) The genuine bag is very slouchy because of the excellent leather quality. It cannot possibly sit up on its own. With the weight of the paddington lock, the whole bag literally collapses. It is not so with the fakes.

It is very hard to tell them apart just looking at the exterior look, as the fake ones are produced near perfection.

re: the fakes, is it possible to tell the difference by colour? Are there colours that Chloe have not released that are turning up on people's arms looking genuine?

Yes, the colours will look shiny and plasticity instead of soft and buttery. The distressed leather is hard to replicate as well.

Other ways to tell fakes from originals is the stitching. This is particularly easy to spot in the Tan Bags. The stitching on the original is darker than the colour of the bag. On all the fakes I have seen the stitching has been pale.

Another way you can spot a fake is by looking at the edges of the leather. If you look at the edge of the leather on the white original for example, it is tan not white as it is on the fakes. This is most noticeable on the handles.
