I don't know about you,but I am SERIOUSLY sick of these ridiculous auctions with their idiotic postal charges.I'm talking of course about the ones where items are about £5,but the postage charges are £20 (by standard post,no less).

To the ones who do this (and you know who you are),all you do is bring shame to the principals of eBay.The rules clearly state that what you are doing is illegal. And what makes this even more of an embarassment is that it's not just Hong Kong sellers doing this (Side note: why are HK sellers registered on eBay UK when they don't even reside in the UK??? Do they have any idea how annoying it is when you're searching for something in the UK and all these results come up with "Postage from Hong Kong" in them?).

Certain UK sellers have begun this policy now.No names, but I have seen sellers who ship from the UK charging £15 postage to ship to the UK for standard mail,on a PSP game no less! All because these sellers are adamant about getting their "due amount",even by trickery.

I can remember when eBay was the home of the bargains. Now we have to suffer from greedy traders and their so-called "bargains".Will this end anytime soon? Would I be writing this if I thought it would ??

eBay user takethejag writes : The Great eBay Rip Off is now many traders deliberately displaying prices ex-VAT, with still high-ish P&P charges, and a disclaimer somewhere a very long way down the page, and of course coupled with immediate payment required on a buy-it-now, the buyer is often only aware of this when paying at checkout.Maybe it's the buyers fault for not fully reading the listing, but the fact that eBay even allow this practice is amazing. In the UK, as far as I am aware, anybody selling the general public is required by law to display their prices inclusive of VAT. It's totally unfair where some traders selling the same item are displaying a VAT inclusive price, whilst others, a VAT exclusive price.

And he's absolutely correct, because genuine sellers on eBay are having their reputations placed in jeopardy because of greedy sellers with their concealed charges.eBay, if youre reading this, how about employing one of your established sellers to check your listings for these rip-offs???
