As an academic lecturer at (Anonymous) University and Head of Research Division at a number of other institutions, I would like to take the time to review a criterion textbook for which a large proportion of the University's students have used to their advantage.
The Media Student's Book, written by Gill Branston and now in its 4th edition, has been a textbook for many years as a fixed reading material. It has an illustrious wealth of information at your disposal where the author(s) have utilised their understanding of various media concepts, facts, knowledge bases and proceeding developments to show a clear indication of the advancement of new media technology and the importance of traditional media in modern society.
It should be considered amongst all students and peers alike, for it not only captures the imagination of the reader to want to develop their personal understanding with the numerous topics involved in the media, but to ensure teaching and learning is more pleasant with structured debates and discussions.
I advise ALL students to purchase a copy of this book and for college and school libraries to invest in this worthwhile and successful read.
