In 1989 Swatch introduced an artist special designed by Mimmo Paladino. It was produced in very low numbers, in fact a limited run of 140. The first 99 were given out to prominent world personalities of the time and one was given to the winner of a swatch contest. The others were produced for the project collaborators and a few variants and prototypes also exist. The Oigol Oro is one of the rarest and highly sought after Swatch watches.
